Dekoni Foam Attenuation Kit | Attenuator Pads

Placing foam between your ear and the driver generally targets the high frequency range, reducing the highest frequencies and essentially “softening” the sound of your headphones. This can help if you find sibilance or long-term listening fatigue to be an issue, by taming cymbals, spoken S’s or similar.

The Foam Attenuation Kit includes four different densities of foam to offer a wide variety of tuning options. Simply mark and cut the sheet, then place the foam attenuator between the headphone driver and earpad and you’re ready!

If you’ve got a set of cans that doesn’t quite meet your expectations, the foamkit is the perfect opportunity to fine-tune your sound. To start, simply trace out the shape of the earpad or baffle on a sheet of foam. Note that one sheet may be large enough for both right and left sides!

Once you’ve traced out your foam insert, begin cutting along the trace marks. Note that you may need to cut slightly within the tracing to ensure the foam will fit neatly inside your headphone.

With your foam cut, you can now compare it against your earcup, earpad or driver cover and cut away any excess material remaining. The foam can be inserted either in front of or behind the driver, or inside the earpad itself, allowing for a diverse range of tuning options!

With four different densities and multiple ways to install the foamkit, you’ll find massive potential to make your headphones everything you want and more. Save the trouble of trying to find a perfect out of box experience with constant headphone swapping, and step into the world of headphone modding with the foam attenuation kit!
